- Yes they are students but this is their job. They get paid a lot to be here and are supposed to be professional. They are supposed to follow up with their patients. That is a part of the curriculum. But they often do not. I have no idea why they are passing their clinicals when they are unable to communicate properly with their patients. It shouldn't matter how many people come here. It's their JOB. If they don't like dealing with so many people, then this isn't the job for them.

Saw a different Dr and was 10mins late so I had to wait for another appt @11:00. I have been in there early for years and waited for 45mins+...I always have a different Dr oversee what Dr Bronsther prescribes. This time I didn't see Dr Bronsther and I hate having to go over my life with so many. I have had some matters of the heart that are serious and they seem to not care so much but about what I am prescribed. Always trying to change something. I am looking for another Dr and since I have better insurance I would like to go back to my old Dr, where you see the same person and they care and want you to have your med's that you have been on for years and they work!! Becoming very disappointed with this office. Plus the office staff is beginning to not even remember me after years of going there. Last time I went I felt worse after the appt than before.
- They are REAL doctors but they don't act like it, at all, or at least it just so happens myself and many reviewers have experienced the many unprofessional students and staff.

I had a long wait for my first appointment, but it was totally worth it, and everything has been on point since. Dr. Stanley was great, and Holly in appointments is a complete sweetheart!
My cat's veterinarian has a higher quality of medicine than this place. Avoid if at all possible. Your doctor will change about every 6 months and getting a refill is like pulling teeth. The staff can be quite rude for a psychiatrists office even after you wait on the phone for 30 minutes +. I've been going there for YEARS and it's almost always been this way. I would NEVER go back if it wasn't the only place I've found that takes my insurance.
Absolutely terrible. This is the most unprofessional and poorly run medical establishment I have ever seen. Most of the staff is absolutely horrible with terrible attitudes and will do absolutely nothing to help the patients. You will never, and i am not exaggerating, see the same doctor twice because it's nothing but residents. Good luck trying to get a refill on any medication. They say it takes up to 3 business days once you put in a request, which is fair, but if you check in 4 business days later to get your refill they'll act as if you never put one in and give you a terrible time trying to get your refill. It's hard enough for most people to be treated for mental health issues. This place makes it so much harder. They're the only place in town that takes state health insurance though so those on medicare/medicaid and military retirees like myself have basically no other options. Just do yourself a favor and drive the distance to the next nearest psychiatrist.
- Due to the partnership with ECU & the hospital, this is one of the only places around. Which is absurd. Mental health is important. It should not be a monopoly.
The office staff are friendly and on point. Always a pleasure. I love Dr Bonsther, she is one of the best doctors I have had the pleasure to work with. We also communicate some thru MyChart. She has such an honest and caring attitude! Couldn't ask for a better doctor.
It's a teaching facility, so your mileage may vary, as evidenced by all the negative reviews. But as someone seen by multiple doctors within the ECU system, this was a convenient option for me.
