I was referred there by my OB for 1st trimester screening and I sincerely hope I never have to go back. My appointment was at 10am and didn't leave there until 12:05. The staff were nice enough but the wait time is truly ridiculous. I didn't go back until about 10:45 and had to wait around 25 minutes after my ultrasound with the tech for the doctor to see me. I really thought id been forgotten. I then had to wait 15 minutes again in the wait room for a lab slip. Also there is absolutely no reception in that clinic what so ever, my husband was frantic with worry by time I got out because he couldn't get ahold of me.
I transferred my care here from Buenos Aires, Argentina in May. My first appt was in June. The care here at Brody is unbelievable. It only took one visit and I'm changing providers. For one, I went to Brody so they could translate my ultrasounds and blood work from Spanish since they told me they had a translator. The midwife came in and literally was asking me, what everything meant. No translator in sight. I'm not a doctor you should not be asking the patient. She seemed very confused which did not make me feel easy. Next, they wanted me to take a glucola drink for a SECOND time, even though I had no issue in Argentina with their more up to date test that did not include an outdated glycola drink. I'm sure they are not educated on these ingredients in the drink that they are just handing out to pregnant women. First it's packed with artificial coloring, tons of preservitatives for a LONG shelf life and has BVO as a main ingredient (a flame retardant). I refused, to say the least. (You can too, you have the right. There are other options!). To top it off, they had a "student" take my blood without informing me and she busted my vein in my left arm. The nurse stepped in and had to stop the bleeding and take blood AGAIN from my right arm. Not to mention I have yet to see an actual OBGYN and they informed me that I would not see one until I deliver! Plus it would be a resident Doctor. One who has not graduated yet. No Brody. Just no.
I was transferred here due to a high risk pregnancy. From my first visit, I have begged to go back to my regular OB and have the high risk managed by the pediatric cardiologist. I was not allowed. While there, I wait an hour or more just to see a resident for 5 minutes and then a doctor comes in 20 minutes later just to confirm and back out the door. They talk to you like you are uneducated and give you the impression you do not have client rights. I was told I was not expected to understand something (I am a Ph.D student with a Master's in child development). They bring up birth control and say you dont have to make a decision today, but think about what you plan to take. Since when do we need population control? I'm so ready to be done with being assumed I'm uneducated, unemployed, and another statistic. I will be choosing a different provider if my next pregnancy is considered high risk. Just awful service all around.
Plan to be on hold for a long time
Horrible.
